Carnival time

We took the Puchacz to Newbury Carnival to tell the folks of Newbury what we do and and where we are. they certainly kept us busy. Surely some will come and give gliding a go for themselves.

  1. Fortunately not many people around first thing to watch us making a meal of rigging the Puchacz (Phil claims it was because of the very uneven ground). I was told that it looked "quite corporate" with us wearing the new hats with the club logo (be sure to buy one for yourself).
We certainly were kept busy. At times there was a queue waiting to add their name to out mailing list (not quite as long as the queue for the ice cream stall nearby). Quite a few people I spoke to had experience gliding with the ATC. Also found a few people interested in getting a group together for a TLE.
A magnificant effort from the half dozen members at the stand backed up by the folks who smartened up the Puchacz and loaded it into the trailer before hand. Thanks are due to the EUF syndicate for lending their trailer - that made a big difference.

  2. Meanwhile, back at the club...
those who went to keep the flying going were treated to a bit of local soaring. Pity it wasn't good enough to wander over Newbury to give us a chance to look up and say "look, there's one now"
